The stand-up or stand-up/sit-down scooter is a small scooter which has a deck upon which to stand in the center and may optionally have a seat. Usually powered with either a small gas or electric utility engine, they are ideal for short, one-person transport.
The major advantage of the small foldable scooters is their ability to serve as emergency back-up and highly portable transportation. The engine on many of these scooters is just as powerful as that of a full-sized minimalist scooter and perfectly capable of long distance travel, yet the scooter can easily be stowed in the trunk of a car, aboard a light aircraft, or even in a canoe, as well as carried as luggage on public transport to provide quick ground transportation anywhere. A traveller with a backpack and a foldable scooter has the ultimate in spontaneous travel choices and will not be stranded anywhere.
The Dirt Dog is a stand-up sit-down scooter with a powerful pull-start two stroke 49cc engine (the same displacement found in Minimalist Scooters). It has disk brakes front and rear, and a top speed of 30mph. It's 250 lb carrying capacity will handle even a full-sized person. Comfort suspension is standard on both wheels.
Weighing only about 50 lbs, it uses a folding design and will fit comfortably in a trunk -- ideal for short trips when camping (See RVs and Scooters).
The Dirt bike bars are wider than the standard bar, providing more stability. The bars are adjustable -- up, down, back and forth. This is one of the most powerfull 49cc motors on the market. Front and rear Disc Brakes. Rear Foot Pegs.
