A dog is part of the family and enjoys the companionship and the journey. It is perfectly possible for a dog to become as at-home on a scooter as in a car or truck.
When a scooter is one's primary or only mode of transportation, accommodation must be made for pets. For short local jaunts, a large dog may enjoy a short run, but where traffic exists, this may be dangerous for the animal.
There are several possible options for transporting small and medium sized dogs on board a scooter. On a scooter equipped with a front basket, a small dog may enjoy riding in the prow. Some very small dogs can be carried in a special over-the-sholder pet carrier.
Dogs are intelligent. Many are capable of understanding the dynamics of riding a pillion seat. Extreme caution is to be exercised when travelling this way, but it does permit an intelligent and agile dog to mount and dismount at will -- choosing either to run or ride.
Always consider the safety of dog along with that of all persons when scootering together. These practices are not necessarily legal everywhere. Check local reguations -- and watch where the tail might get into trouble.
